YEEEOUCH!!

I just got an estimate to have two sides of our privacy fence replaced and a chain link put across the yard to divide the dogs from the pool area. If they haul off the old fence it will cost over $4,000!!!! That is KRAZY man! And, get this, the soonest they can get to it would be September 3rd!! When my parents were here in May my dad made calls to quite a few fence companies and NONE of them called back. I called a few yesterday and got no calls back. I called one, the only one in the paper, and he came out this afternoon. My parents are NOT going to spring for a $4,000 fence. They could pay for the materials and Mark and I could do it ourselves for less than half that, easy. It might not be "professional" but...

K, over that little fit. In other news...

The animal control people still haven't shown up with the live trap for the skunk that is living under our deck. We smelled it yesterday afternoon and again this morning. Several years ago we had an armadillo living under the same deck and there was a weird musky smell going on out there, this time it was definitely SKUNK and not armadillo.

I have a headache again today, really bad late afternoon kind, seems to be in my shoulders and neck, and eye sockets. ugh.

The girls are outside on the trampoline, Ryan is at his friends' house, Mark is still at work, beans are on the stove and I'm gonna go fold some laundry so I can lay down.

I am so addicted to these things!

You Are The Hanging Man

You represent the seeking of enlightenment and spiritual clarity.
You tend to confuse others, but your oddities seem deeply satisfying.
Self sacrifice is easy for you, especially if it makes you a better person in the end.
You are the type of person who is very in touch with your soul and inner spirit.

Your fortune:

Right now is a good time for reflection and meditation.
You should stop resisting the problems in your life, and let yourself be vulnerable to them.
You may need to sacrifice something important to you to move ahead in your life.
Accept your destiny with courage, and learn to let go of what you think you need.

Most of them are nonsense but occasionally one comes across that seems very real. The personality sorters are based on tons of questions but this one was originated from my blog name alone. It does fit though, like the pie one and the others. Kinda strange...

Now, yesterday, or was it Saturday, I promised to finish a post and never got back to it. So, I will update here. Wednesday night Ryan had a mini-camp with his church youth group so he was out of our hair til early Saturday morning. Thursday, the girls spent the night with their friend in a nearby town. Mark took off work Thursday and Friday to help ready our swimming pool area for a party the youth group was going to have here Friday afternoon. So, at 3pm we're at Walmart getting some ice and a few last minute things and the bottom falls out. We drove over to the church, in a nearby strip center, and told them they could still come whenever the rain stopped. So, they showed up around 5:30ish and stayed til nearly 8 I think. The girls' friend spent the night with us Friday night so it was a really busy several days.

Mark and I loaded the canoe and fishing gear in the suburban later that night and he picked Ryan up at camp around 7:30 Saturday morning. They spent the morning at Martin Lake and went again to Gladewater Lake in the evening. Both have decided that because of our recent flooding rains the fish are probably disoriented and not biting. All they are getting are brim and perch.

Meanwhile....

I began sorting my SIX large tubs of yarn! My parents left a 5-drawer file cabinet behind when they moved and finally emptied it a few months ago when they were here. It sat empty in the garage surrounded by these tubs of yarn until the lightbulb came on. Duh! So, 90% of the yarn is now in the file cabinet, 1 tub is destined for a garage sale, and my projects take up 2 tubs. This little project took all weekend but was interspersed with swimming, cooking, pet care(this is a big time consumer)and lounging around. Today I'm going to do my fabric tubs. We won't go into how many I have. I'm also going through some bookshelves in the house, again, to see if I can thin them out, again. It would be nice to have one of the bookshelves for fabric but I'm not sure how that would work out since the shelves are in our entry hall.

Hopefully, after this is all over with, I'll have a better ability to choose what I want to do. So much of this stuff, especially the yarn, has been bought as an experiment. I learned to crochet just over 2 years ago and had no ideas about which yarns did what. Now I do so I can make better choices. Quilting is probably going to be my lesser craft though. I LOVE quilts, I love handwork but I really hate to cut fabric and I dislike to sew on a machine. If I had a craft room with proper cutting equipment and such it might be different but I don't.

This isn't all...

But it is a start! Since it is 11pm, I will update the rest of this post tomorrow. I spend WAAAAY more time reading lovely blogs than writing on(or even thinking about) my own. So, check back tomorrow folks.

You Are Midnight

You are more than a little eccentric, and you're apt to keep very unusual habits.
Whether you're a nightowl, living in a commune, or taking a vow of silence - you like to experiment with your lifestyle.
Expressing your individuality is important to you, and you often lie awake in bed thinking about the world and your place in it.
You enjoy staying home, but that doesn't mean you're a hermit. You also appreciate quality time with family and close friends.

Cats and Shopping...

What a life huh? Soshie snoozing on the computer. She has been a prisoner in my bedroom for years, kept there by her fear of the younger two cats, Ruby and Rosie. For some reason, last month she decided to come out and has been living in the living room ever since. I don't know what flipped her switch but I'm glad she's not isolated any more. The down side is that she doesn't come sleep on our bed any more, she likes the warmth of the computers.

What I found at Goodwill last week. The brown melmac is old but the robin's egg blue is probably not. I got the white bowls because I am sadly lacking for serving bowls and they will go perfect on my red carts! A REAL bundt pan! I can't wait to make some lemon cake, probably not on my diet but I'm gonna search for a healthy recipe.
