I know I've posted about this before but, our family enjoys drinking Raw Milk. It tastes sooooo much better than store bought and is very healthy for you(read some of the links on that website)! The first time Amy tried it she said it tasted "alive". Today Sarah and I set off about 9am for our hour-long trek with threat of sleet and snow, thankfully we had neither. Here's what we saw...
(we didn't think they'd stick around, some were a bit antsy but some came right on up)
(this babe licked our hands with her rough tongue)
(she really liked getting her nose petted)
(isn't she a doll?)

Those cows are so sweet! What beautiful country.
I have tasted raw milk before and yes, it is extremely tasty but can come at a cost. After losing my father to E-Coli, I don't risk it anymore.
Oh Tallulah, I am so sorry! How awful.
We've thankfully had no problems with any of this milk, nobody that we know of has either. The farmer has all of his monthly inspection paperwork on a bulletin board in the pick-up room and one had a handwritten note saying it was "better than perfect" as far as what he does to keep things clean and his state-of-the-art equipment. I feel quite safe with his milk although I know lots of folks who wouldn't.

Raw milk can get e-coli just as easy as....tomatoes and lettuce and....
All food is a risk.
We don't drink raw milk but not because its raw...because I havent looked for it in our new area. I have many friends that use it for their children with cancer or autism.
On another subject...the hay rolls in Iceland are wrapped in white plastic so they look like big marshmallows out in the fields. Funny but that is one of the things both kids remember about living there.
she is a doll. My grandpa used to get milk from his neighbor.. I thought it tasted "weird" when I was a kid.I like your daughters description better! lol!
I have never tasted raw milk. But that is one cute moo!
Yummmmy! There's only one person in town that does raw milk items...and my grandmother says Jersey cows give the best milk...
I love cows, they have such soulful eyes. Great pics!
I've tried it only once! At my aunt and uncles farm when I was about 5. That's all they drink too. I mostly remember churning butter :) And I also remember when I first came to America that I did NOT believe milk came from cows! My mom asked where I thought it came from. I said, the Store!
heh heh
