Time...

****edited to include this wonderful announcement: Today is the 19th Anniversary of our (official) Engagement! We were going to get engaged on Valentine's Day but Mark had to work so we did it on his day off. Actually, we were unofficially engaged in November of 1989 but my mom wasn't ready for that so I made him take the ring back(yes, you read that right!). We had only met that July but knew from our second date that we were meant for each other. 'neeways, just wanted to share. And, no, I didn't forget, just didn't realize today was the 12th.****

You're the time of day right around sunrise, when the sky is still a pale bluish gray. The streets are empty, and the grass and leaves are a little bit sparkly with dew. You are the sound of a few chirpy birds outside the window. You are quiet, peaceful, and contemplative. If you move slowly, it's not because you're lazy – it's because you know there's no reason to rush. You move like a relaxed cat, pausing for deep stretches that make your muscles feel alive. You are long sips of tea or coffee (out of a mug that's held with both hands) that slowly warm your insides just as the sun is brightening the sky.

This is pretty right-on. Early mornings are nice since it is usually just me. Mark leaves for work about 7:15 and sometimes Amy isn't up until 8. I can eat my breakfast, drink my coffee, read the news and my email and think about what needs done for the day. However I am more active, both physically and mentally, in the late afternoons and get most of my stuff done then.

Apparently yesterday my body needed some extra sleep for some reason. I was exhausted most of the afternoon yesterday and got very little done in the way of cleaning and decluttering my bedroom. Three of my smaller treasure(junk) drawers got de-junked and I threw away about 1/2 a drawer's worth of trash from them. Just the tip of the iceberg of what I had planned. Maybe today will go better. Except that Ryan thinks he is getting the stomach virus, he informed me at one point last night.

Mark brought home some tortillas for leftover chicken fajitas. I ate, took a quick bath, then fell dead asleep at 7:05pm. He came in to see if I wanted to watch the Sarah Connor Chronicles but I was barely able to respond to him(he said it was a great episode so I'll have to catch it online later this week). The girls kept coming in to tell me various things(about which I cannot recall and were answered by my grunting) and they finally went to bed around 9:30. Next I knew, Tom was in and it was 12:30. Puppy-girl woke me up barking at thunder at 5:50 and I've been up ever since. It is now 9:45 and I've had 3 cups of coffee. I'm still groggy and the bed is calling me back but I must resist!!

In other news...

Mark has to be in court again today. His company is being sued because one of their drivers(no longer working there) had a wreck while on a delivery. The woman suing wasn't even involved in the wreck except that the delivery van came to rest in front of her car, and slightly bumped it. She wouldn't accept the insurance company's offered settlement so they're in court to decide if she deserves more.

I have to grocery shop sometime today and then we need to take the kittens for their shots and worming. Fun fun! I think the temperature has dropped 15-20 degrees since I first took P-girl for her walk at 6-something. Oh yeah, just checked weather.com and it is now 45. I think it was 69 when I logged on earlier this morning. It is still spitting but should clear by this afternoon. We'll see.

I know I'd like to be home right now napping! I'm the same time! Get you rest while you can, the chores are always so patient ;-)

OH...I just took the test, and we're both the same time! I think that too describes me perfectly!

Good luck with your day, don't forget to keep recovering from feeling icky...and I hope all goes well with the law suit. That is totally ridiculous. I would love to march down to the courthouse and let them know it's because of these kinds of people that we all have to pay so much in car insurance...idiots!

I haven't taken the test yet but I will. I just found your blog via capello's and we have so much in common. I want to know more about unschooling. I met my hubby in Jan of 1991. We were pregnant and married by June of '91. I knew he was the one on our first date.
